So, you have a high pitched voice and you are ashamed of it? You probably have come to the conclusion that there is really nothing that you can do about it, even though that could not be further from the truth. Truthfully, your voice is controlled by muscles, and if those muscles are trained then the voice can be deepened rather quickly. The length and strength of the vocal chords is what impacts the depth and tone of the voice the most. If you’re vocal chords are long and strong then your voice will be a lot more powerful.
Another factor that contributes to the depth and tone of your voice is the amount off tension that is being placed on the vocal chords. If there is a high amount of tension then the pitch will be higher, and if the vocal chords are more relaxed then the pitch will be deeper. This is the problem a lot of guys with high pitched voices have. They don’t understand that by stressing out about the pitch of their voice they are actually making it higher. Instead of stressing about how your voice sounds, just speak. While your voice may not be as deep as you would like it to b, it will certainly be better than if you were worried about it constantly.
While relaxing can help to a certain extent, if you want real results then you are going to want to do some vocal exercises to strengthen your voice. The weaker your vocal chords are the more you have to strain to produce a sound, and the tighter the chords will bee while producing the sound. Remember, constricted vocal chords produce those undesirable high pitch sounds. So you are trying to do vocal exercises that will give your voice strength so you can relax when you speak and still be audible. So the next time you go to speak to someone and you get nervous, just shrug it off knowing that the nervousness is only going to make it worse.
