Loosen Tension, Deepen Your Voice

deeper voiceA lot of people assume they are pretty much stuck with whatever voice they have at the current moment time. However the truth is, the voice is controlled by vocal muscles, and just like every other muscle, it can be trained and changed.

The vocal muscles in your larynx are what controls the air as it is pushed out of your lungs, creating a vibration or sound. The tone of the sound depends on the tension in the vocal are of your throat. What people with a high pitched voice don’t realize is, they can do something about it, just by training their vocal chords to loosen up. The proof of this can be seen when a person gets nervous, their voice begins to crack, this is because of the tension the voice box, that is being caused by the stress that is being put on their body at point in time, thereby tightening up their vocal chords.

If you want to keep your vocal chords loose to create a deeper sound, then you will need to do vocal exercise that will lengthen your vocal chords and make your voice muscles stronger. Stronger and longer vocal chords mean more voice control, which means you can make a wider array of sounds. This is crucial when trying to make your voice deeper, as you will be focusing on training your voice to make a certain sound. You can do this by repetitively humming in a deep voice and creating various notes with your voice, in a deep tone. After a while, your voice will become accustomed to making deeper sounds, and you will find it easy to speak in a deeper and clearer voice.

There are many guides that can teach you specific techniques to help you with deepening your voice. If you would like a comprehensive guide that can ensure you get a deeper voice, then click on one off the tabs above.

Breathing Exercises to Strengthen and Deepen Your Voice

deeper voiceWoman love a man with a powerful and authoritative voice. It gives off an err of confidence and masculinity. If you do not have a strong voice, you may feel hopeless in trying to change it, assuming that there is really nothing you can do about it. The truth is, there are many ways one can deepen their voice effectively, and you can even wind up sounding like a completely different person. One of the ways you can strengthen your voice is to practice Diaphragmatic.

Diaphragmatic breathing is basically deep belly breathing. Since your voice is a result of air being pushed from your lungs and then contorted in your vocal box, doing breathing exercises will give you a stronger push, which will make your vocal control increase. Start by placing a hand over your belly button. Then take a long inhale as you are counting to ten, make sure you inhale for a full ten seconds. Once you have inhaled for ten seconds, then exhale for ten seconds, making sure to exhale for a full ten seconds. Keep doing this repeatedly until it completely comfortable for you to do.

Once you have gotten comfortable with this exercise, try adding a sound to the equation. Try for example an “ah” sound. Making sure to hold the sound for as long as you possibly can before stopping. Once you have gotten use to this then try bouncing your shoulders as you make the sound for as long as you can, this will make it a little bit harder. Once you have gotten use to this, then you should be able to do this on a daily basis. Try to do it as often as possible, like whenever you are alone driving in the car. Before you know it, you’ll be speaking with a stronger voice and taking less breathes between each pause.

If you would like to know more about deepening your voice, then be sure to check out all of the free articles on this site. Controlling Your Voice To Make It Deeper

deeper voiceMany men are shy and embarrassed because their voice is not as deep as they would like it to be. They don’t even realize that they can change it through simple muscle memory exercises. If you stop to think about it for a minute, you will realize that the voice is controlled by muscles, and so therefore it can be trained and built up like very other muscle.

All you have to do is utilize your vocal muscles too create the deepest sound possible on a regular basis. This will create muscle memory that will aid your voices ability to create specific sounds, in this case deeper sounds. You see, your voice creates sounds by controlling the air that is being pushed out of your lungs as you talk. The more tension that is being put on the air, the higher the pitch of the sound will be. If you can strengthen and lengthen your vocal chords, you can become better at creating any type of sound you’d like. Take for example the man from the movie “police academy” who is able to make thousands of sounds with his voice, even mimicking cars and chainsaws. Do you think this man was born with this ability? Of course not, he trained his vocal chords over years of hard work and practice to be able to make those sounds.

All you have to do, is do something similar, except it probably won’t take you many years, only a couple of months, and you won’t be focusing on making car sounds either. There are many exercises that you can do to deepen your voice, so I cannot go into all of the right now. The main thing that all of the voice strengthening exercises do, is lengthen your vocal chords and improve your vocal muscle memory.

How You Can Deepen Your Voice

deeper voiceAt one point or another, pretty much everyone gets embarrassed about the way their voice sounds. Some people only have to go through this embarrassment during the time their voice is changing, as a pre-teen/teenager. Yet for some people it is long lasting problem that could cause serious self esteem issues.

A person’s voice is their way of expressing themselves. If someone has a voice that they are ashamed of they will most likely be very shy and not speak too often. This can affect multiple aspects of someone’s life, like their ability to perform during a job interview. Other people have strong and deep voices, that they are proud of. These people are generally more outspoken, and therefore it is easier for them to make friends and be successful in life.

You see, your voice plays a big role in the outcome of your life, and so it should be taken care of and pushed to it’s full potential. What most people don’t realize is you can actually change your voice as you see fit. Yes that’s right, even if you have a voice like Peewee Herman, there is always something you can do about it.

The section of your throat that contains the vocal chords is called the larynx. When your vocal chords vibrate they create a sound. The pitch/tone of the sound will depend on how much tension is being put on your vocal chords an how long your vocal chords are. If there is high tension then you will get a high pitched sound, where as relaxed  vocal chords creating low tension will produce deeper sound. Therefore, in order to deepen your voice you must make your vocal chords longer, and lower the amount of tension in your larynx.

The muscles that are responsible for controlling your vocal sounds are called Cricothyroid muscles and also the Vocalis muscles. So, exercising these muscles will give you a deeper voice. “How do I exercise them?” You may ask. Well, the answer is really quite simple. All you have to do to deepen your voice is  hum different notes in a deep voice for prolonged periods of time.  By training your vocal chords to produce a certain amount of tension you will be lengthening them and your voice will eventually become deeper over time.

Likewise, if you wanted to be able to hit the high notes, then you would just hum high pitched sounds in different notes for prolonged periods of time. If you want a raspy voice then let your voice get sore by depriving it of water when it gets dry, then try to push more air out when you talk, like you are talking from within your chest. Over time the vocal chords will scar and then heal, producing a raspy sound as the vibrations pass through the scar tissue and the saliva that is built up on it.

While most people would not want a raspy voice, it just goes to show that the voice is a changeable  muscle group just like the rest of the muscles in your body. If you’re trying to change your voice, then you’ll need to remember it will take persistance.
