Just Breathe

deeper voiceDo yo have a high pitched voice that you wish you could change? If you do you probably have come to terms with the fact that you will never be able to change it, and you have accepted the voice you were given. If you have not accepted the voice you were given, then chances are you walk around in embarrassment whenever you speak. That really is no way to live, and you should know that there are some things that you can do to make your voice deeper within a relatively short period of time.

In order to fix your problem, you first need to understand what is causing it. A high pitched voice could be caused by a several things. Your voice is powered by your lungs and your vocal chords, so the problem lies in one of those areas, if not both of them. This is how your voice is created:

First you take in a breathe, then as you exhale, your vocal chords constrict the air, and it makes a vibration. That’s pretty much a basic summary of how it works. The more air that is being pushed out, the more depth the sound is going to have. If a small burst of air is coming out then the sound will be quieter. SO logically, the first step to take in order to deepen your voice is to strengthen your lungs so you can make louder noises WITH EASE. I capitalized “with ease” because that is the key to a deep voice.

You see, the higher the tension is, the higher the pitch will bee. If your lungs or vocal chords are weak then you will have to try harder to produce a sound, thereby creating tension and a high pitched sound. So if you want a deeper voice then you should start by strengthening your lungs, by doing breathing exercises. There are many breathing exercises that will help you deepen your voice, and you will find most of them in the Deeper Voice guide.

The Deeper Voice guide is guaranteed to give you a deeper voice.

How You Can Deepen Your Voice

deeper voiceAt one point or another, pretty much everyone gets embarrassed about the way their voice sounds. Some people only have to go through this embarrassment during the time their voice is changing, as a pre-teen/teenager. Yet for some people it is long lasting problem that could cause serious self esteem issues.

A person’s voice is their way of expressing themselves. If someone has a voice that they are ashamed of they will most likely be very shy and not speak too often. This can affect multiple aspects of someone’s life, like their ability to perform during a job interview. Other people have strong and deep voices, that they are proud of. These people are generally more outspoken, and therefore it is easier for them to make friends and be successful in life.

You see, your voice plays a big role in the outcome of your life, and so it should be taken care of and pushed to it’s full potential. What most people don’t realize is you can actually change your voice as you see fit. Yes that’s right, even if you have a voice like Peewee Herman, there is always something you can do about it.

The section of your throat that contains the vocal chords is called the larynx. When your vocal chords vibrate they create a sound. The pitch/tone of the sound will depend on how much tension is being put on your vocal chords an how long your vocal chords are. If there is high tension then you will get a high pitched sound, where as relaxed  vocal chords creating low tension will produce deeper sound. Therefore, in order to deepen your voice you must make your vocal chords longer, and lower the amount of tension in your larynx.

The muscles that are responsible for controlling your vocal sounds are called Cricothyroid muscles and also the Vocalis muscles. So, exercising these muscles will give you a deeper voice. “How do I exercise them?” You may ask. Well, the answer is really quite simple. All you have to do to deepen your voice is  hum different notes in a deep voice for prolonged periods of time.  By training your vocal chords to produce a certain amount of tension you will be lengthening them and your voice will eventually become deeper over time.

Likewise, if you wanted to be able to hit the high notes, then you would just hum high pitched sounds in different notes for prolonged periods of time. If you want a raspy voice then let your voice get sore by depriving it of water when it gets dry, then try to push more air out when you talk, like you are talking from within your chest. Over time the vocal chords will scar and then heal, producing a raspy sound as the vibrations pass through the scar tissue and the saliva that is built up on it.

While most people would not want a raspy voice, it just goes to show that the voice is a changeable  muscle group just like the rest of the muscles in your body. If you’re trying to change your voice, then you’ll need to remember it will take persistance.

Don’t Worry, You CAN Change Your Voice

deeper voiceA lot of men suffer from daily embarrassment because they have a high pitched voice. Most of them do not even know that they have the ability to change their voice at any given time. I am sure if they knew, then most of them would have already done so, and there would be a lot less men walking around with squeaky voices. I bet they would be completely relieved to know that there is actually something they can do about this problem.

So what can be done? Well, in order to know what you should do to fix the problem, you should first know what is causing it. Your voice is controlled by a series of muscles in the larynx that we call vocal chords. The longer and stronger these vocal chords are, the deeper your voice will be. If your vocal chords are small and weak, then you are going to have to try harder to make a sound. When you try harder to produce a sound, your voice box tightens up, causing a high pitched sound.

If you want to make it deeper then you need to make your voice strong enough to produce a sound without having to constrict the larynx. In order to do this you will need to do more than just vocal exercises. Your voice is powered by the air coming out of your lungs, so it will also be necessary to strengthen your lungs through various breathing exercises. If you combine the right set of vocal and breathing exercises, then you will be able to speak with a deeper voice in no time. The key is, being persistent with these exercises and also focusing on doing the right ones.

If you do not know where to start then you are going to need a bit of advice. I would recommend you download the Deeper Voice guide and deeper voice training software. It is packed with tons of vocal and breathing exercises that you can do to make your voice deeper.
