Do You Need To Make Over Your Voice?

deeper voiceYour voice is one of your most important attributes that you have, as it is what represents who you are, even more than your face or your personality sometimes. There are some very mean people with some nice voices and they get many people to like them. On the same token there are many nice people with unattractive, that can only manage to get made fun of. Anytime you have an idea that you would like to express, you have no choice but to outsource the work to your voice, that is unless you have the ability to speak with your mind. If you have that ability then you should either see a psychiatrist or you should write a book telling people how to do it. So what happens when your voice doesn’t live up to your expectations? Is there anything you can do about it? Well, the answer is yes , but before you go changing your voice, ask yourself some of these questions first.

Are people constantly telling me to quiet down or speak up?

Is my voice shaky and does it crack when I get emotional?

Do I speak clearly so everyone can hear me?

When I get excited can people understand what I am saying?

Do I take pauses when they should be taken to separate classes when I speak?

Does my voice sound nasally when I speak?

Do I do a good job of showing expression in my speech?

DO I sound confident when I speak, or do I sound unsure of my voice?

If you answered no to any of these questions, then you should definitely pursue vocal training lessons. If you want to make your voice sound good, then I would recommend you take a look at the rest of the free articles on this site, and check out the guide by clicking on one of the tabs above.

Breathing Exercises to Strengthen and Deepen Your Voice

deeper voiceWoman love a man with a powerful and authoritative voice. It gives off an err of confidence and masculinity. If you do not have a strong voice, you may feel hopeless in trying to change it, assuming that there is really nothing you can do about it. The truth is, there are many ways one can deepen their voice effectively, and you can even wind up sounding like a completely different person. One of the ways you can strengthen your voice is to practice Diaphragmatic.

Diaphragmatic breathing is basically deep belly breathing. Since your voice is a result of air being pushed from your lungs and then contorted in your vocal box, doing breathing exercises will give you a stronger push, which will make your vocal control increase. Start by placing a hand over your belly button. Then take a long inhale as you are counting to ten, make sure you inhale for a full ten seconds. Once you have inhaled for ten seconds, then exhale for ten seconds, making sure to exhale for a full ten seconds. Keep doing this repeatedly until it completely comfortable for you to do.

Once you have gotten comfortable with this exercise, try adding a sound to the equation. Try for example an “ah” sound. Making sure to hold the sound for as long as you possibly can before stopping. Once you have gotten use to this then try bouncing your shoulders as you make the sound for as long as you can, this will make it a little bit harder. Once you have gotten use to this, then you should be able to do this on a daily basis. Try to do it as often as possible, like whenever you are alone driving in the car. Before you know it, you’ll be speaking with a stronger voice and taking less breathes between each pause.

Tension Of The Voice

deeper voiceHere is a little experiment for you to do, try humming in a very deep voice with your chin touching your chest, now raise your chin upwards as you are humming, slowly looking towards the sky. What you will notice is, as you raise your head up, the tone of your voice will get lower as the tension is released from your vocal chords.

This is illustrating how the tension of the vocal chords is the key to achieving that deep voice you have always wanted. There are multiple causes for you vocal chords becoming tense, thereby causing you to have a high pitched voice. It really doesn’t have anything to do with how big your vocal chords are. Just by raising your chin from your chest while making a sound, you have demonstrated that the only thing that matters, when trying to get a deeper voice, is the tension of the voice box.

Your vocal chords are actually very similar to a string instrument. Even the smallest chord on a string instrument can be loosened to give it a deeper sound. So therefore, you can clearly see that the best way to deepen your voice is to release some of the tension on your vocal chords by doing various exercises like humming and breathing exercises. Humming in a deep voice in different notes can help you control the deeper tones of your voice and release some tension from your vocal chords.

Some of the exercises you should be doing are mental though, they have to do with controlling your emotions to keep tension from occurring when you are in crowed places. That’s why some singers’ voices crack when they are singing in front of large crowds, it is simply the tension that is being forced upon their voices by the pressure of being in front of all of those people.
