Simple Vocal Exercises to Lower Your Voice

deeper voiceJust like your body, your voice also needs exercise. Of course we all spend a lot of our time talking, but this is not the same as a workout that would relax your voice and help get the most out of it. Since the cause of a high-pitched voice is tension in the muscles of the larynx, these simple exercises help you to lower your voice.

Before doing these exercises you should first do some warm up exercises to release tension in your neck, shoulders, jaw and tongue. To exercise your tongue, extend it out of your mouth as far as you can and move it in all directions. To exercise your facial muscles, make as many exaggerated funny faces as you can. To remove tension in your neck and shoulders, do neck and shoulder rolls. You can also try massaging the base of your tongue, which is located behind your chin bone, with your thumbs.

Once you’ve done these warm-ups, you can try these vocal exercises. Vocalize an ‘aah’ sound going higher and deeper, and lower your voice gradually. Hum holding a particular pitch for ten seconds at least. Yawn several times to open up the back of your throat. Flap your lips while making a ‘brr’ sound, going up and down your vocal range. Make some noises while jumping up and down or shaking your body.

For best results, do these exercises on a regular basis to release tension. A good speaking voice is one of the keys to success in life and vocal workouts will not only help you lower your voice but also increase its range and power.

How to Make Your Voice Sound Deeper – Quick and Easy Techniques

deeper voiceIf you’ve ever had the experience of accidentally being called ‘ma’am’ by the clerk taking your pizza order, then you know just how humiliating it can be to have a high-pitched voice. No matter how buff you are, it makes you feel like less of a man. You feel less confident, and it can get in the way of your love life. After all, what woman would want to date a guy whose voice is as high as hers? Here are some quick tips on how to make your voice sound deeper.

First, you have to buy or borrow a tape recorder if you don’t have one already. Tape your voice first thing in the morning when you wake up. Notice that it sounds deeper? Then, tape your normal speaking voice. Your goal is to make your speaking voice sound closer to your voice upon waking.

Why does your voice sound deeper first thing in the morning? Well, it’s because your voice box or larynx is relaxed. So if you want a deeper voice then you have to relax your larynx. A tense larynx results in a higher-pitched voice. Hence, avoid stress that tightens your neck and throat muscles, and makes your voice higher. This is just one of the secrets on how to make your voice sound deeper.

Of course, you also have to avoid late nights. Get the required six to eight hours sleep per night. You can also rub a mentholated rub on your chest to help your muscles relax. It also wouldn’t hurt to maintain a healthy lifestyle with lots of fruits, vegetables and at least eight glasses of water a day. And if you smoke, quit! A cigarette-damaged voice is not the same as a pleasingly low voice.

Finally, try speaking from your diaphragm. The diaphragm is the muscle below your ribcage, which is responsible for your exhalation. Try using the muscles in your diaphragm to project a deeper and more assertive voice.

If you use these techniques on how to make your voice sound deeper regularly, you should soon see some remarkable improvements.

Make Your Voice Deep – 3 Simple Exercises

deeper voiceIf you want to make your voice deep, then you need to strengthen the muscles of your neck. Remember that the larynx or voice box, which is the organ that produces your voice, is a muscle. The tenser the muscle, the higher-pitched the voice. Normally, the muscles of the neck itself do the job of supporting your neck. But if they are too weak, the muscles around the larynx have to take up the slack, resulting in tense muscles and a higher voice. So to address this problem, you have to do some exercises to strengthen your neck muscles. Here are three simple exercises you can try that require no equipment.

For the first exercise place your left or right hand on your forehead. Then let your head bend forward with your chin moving towards your chest, while the hand provides resistance by pushing backward. Maintain this position for about two seconds, and then return to starting position. This exercise can be done either standing or sitting, although if you’re standing, make sure you maintain good posture. Posture is an important part to make your voice deep.

For the second exercise, begin by placing your palm on the back of your head. Then tilt your head backward with your chin pointing upwards, while your palm pushes forwards. Maintain this position for two seconds then return to starting position. Again, this can be done while sitting or standing.

For the third exercise, place your left palm on the left side of your head. Move your head towards your left shoulder while your hand provides resistance. Maintain the position for two seconds then return to starting position. Repeat with the right side.

You should do at least three repetitions of each exercise. These exercises are also good for reducing tension as well as helping to make your voice deep. You can also do these exercises as part of your regular strength training workouts.

Speaking Voice Training – Tips From a Professional Voice Coach

deeper voiceWe all know that having a good speaking voice can help you succeed in life. A deep, resonant voice also makes people sit up and listen to you – just look at Barry White. Unfortunately, most people don’t have good voices – they have squeaky, breathy, high-pitched voices. Fortunately, there is speaking voice training available that you can do to make your voice sound crisp and powerful.

First though, you have to record yourself. This will allow you to assess it and look for areas of improvement. It will also serve to record your progress.

Then practice deep breathing from your diaphragm. Do long, controlled exhales. Being able to take longer breaths will give you more control over your voice.

Learn to speak more slowly. If you speak too quickly, this may cause your larynx to tense up, causing your voice to go higher. Talking too fast will also make it harder for people to keep up with what you are saying.

Practice speaking clearly. Having a good speaking voice is useless if people can’t make out what you’re saying. Try exaggerating your lip movements to articulate better. You can also say tongue twisters repeatedly until you master them. These are just a few of many techniques that speaking voice training would teach you.

Learn to moderate your volume and your pitch. Don’t talk too loudly or too softly, and try to pitch your voice lower. You can develop your pitch through vocal exercises such as humming.

Practicing these simple techniques will undoubtedly improve your voice if you do them regularly, but you may also want to get some kind of formal speaking voice training. Having a deeper voice is proven to earn you respect and, of course, attention from women as well.

Deepening Your Voice – Techniques You Can Use

deeper voiceDeepening your voice requires you to understand how your voice is created and addressing the underlying causes of why your voice is high-pitched.

When you speak, air comes from your lungs through your wind pipe. This air causes your vocal cords to vibrate, producing sound. The sound then comes out of your mouth. Like a stringed instrument, the tighter the vocal cords, the higher-pitched the sound that emerges.

To illustrate what we mean, try this: hum with your head facing the floor. Then gradually lift your head towards the ceiling while continuing to hum. You’ll notice that as you raise your head, the pitch of your voice also starts to go up. This is because the muscles in your larynx or voice box became tenser. When you were facing downwards your larynx was relaxed and more supple, and the pitch was lower.

So to produce permanent results in deepening your voice, you have to eliminate the stress in your larynx. There are a couple of ways you can do this: do exercises to strengthen your neck muscles and deepen your breathing. This is just one of many techniques you can employ to achieve that power commanding voice you’ve always wanted.

When the muscles of your neck are too weak, the muscles around your vocal cords have to do the work of supporting your neck, creating more tension and resulting in a higher voice. When your breathing is deeper, then you can produce more air and are better able to modulate your voice. There are a few methods that when you practice them religiously, you’ll be on your way to deepening your voice, and commanding respect too.
