Almost every guy who is on the brink of puberty wishes to have a deep voice. There are a large number of reasons that can be used to explain this tendency and behaviour of the young adolescents. The top most explanation for guys wanting a deeper voice is the fact that having a deep voice goes down well with the members of the opposite sex. It is known universally that females use the depth in the voice of a guy as a measuring yard to the health, maturity and masculinity of a guy. Some people find it shallow, but that’s just the way it is. Besides this, a male baritone is also considered to be one of the sexiest assets of a man. There have been numerous examples throughout the pages of history that can validate that fact.

A deep voice is also a fabulous gift to any one who is musically inclined for if we ever find a male singing extremely well in the lower register, the head starts moving and the qualities of the singer are acknowledged and respected. Women are attracted to men, this fact has also been proven by the help of various experiments that were carried out by David Puts, who is an anthropologist at the Michigan State University. The study proves that men who have a deeper voice have more luck with members of the opposite sex. The Internet is loaded with stories that have been submitted by users from all over the world. These stories essentially highlight the experiences of users and how they ended up with their partners because of their voice.

Another study that was carried out recently claims to have proven the belief that the men who have deep voices have an advantage when it comes to survival. It is said that these men have a better chance of passing their genes to their young ones. It has also been reportedly proven that men who have a deeper voice father more children. As a matter of fact, researchers say that the voice quality alone can account for almost 50 percent variation in the reproductive success of men.

Another thing which having a deep voice can do for you is get you a lot of respect. It is a very common phenomenon. If you enter a room full of people and all of a sudden a deep voice is heard talking at a loud volume, you will more often than not stand and listen. Moreover, an individual who has a deep voice is always respected and trusted upon. An individual with a deep voice carries more authority when compared to someone who has a high-pitched voice. It must also be remembered that a deep voice is almost always associated with power, authority and a lot of confidence.

A recent study of over 100 women showed that 75% of them tend not to trust an answer from a man with a high pitched or squeaky voice. To clarify, this survey was comprised exclusively of women aged from 18 to 50 but the results were surprising to say the least.

This type of result indicates that a high pitched or squeaky voice actually creates doubt in a womans mind. Whether the question is…”have you had a good day?” or “Were you cheating on me?” The result is the same, if the voice is not crisp deep and the tone is not re-assuring, the tendency is to doubt the truth of the answer given by the man with a high pitched voice.

Further more, the study showed eye contact to be useless when it came to the sound of a squeaky voice. It seems like the old fall back of making eye contact to be of little use in generating credibility, when the voice was weak. But bear in mind, this study was made within the frame work of the male/female dynamic. A study of how men respond to this type of voice weakness has not yet been completed.

Without the capacity to be believed, to foster trust in others, life can often become difficult for men with a weak or high pitched voice. Ultimately, what this survey points to is that for at least 75% of 100 women, a deep crisp voice is the desired way they need to be addressed for them to invest trust in a mans answers. Does this mean getting a permanent crisp deep voice can lead to a better future? Seems logical.
