How to Deepen Your Voice – The Secrets

deeper voiceThere’s a reason why Barry White’s music is known as music to make love by. Women simply find deep voices sexy. High-pitched voices, on the other hand, are a definite turn-off. High voices do not just get in the way of a successful love life; it can even impact your self-confidence in other areas of your life, such as your career. If you have this problem, here are a few tips on how to deepen your voice. If you faithfully practice these techniques you will definitely see some improvement, not only in deepening your voice, but in improving its clarity and projection.

First, keep your head straight and your chin up when you speak. Good posture is always essential in projecting a deep voice. And don’t forget to speak from your diaphragm instead of your chest. Speaking from your diaphragm, the muscles underneath your rib cage, allows you to speak with more resonance.
Second, discipline yourself to speak more slowly. People who talk quickly have a tendency to sound like records played at a too-fast speed. This is because fast talk makes your larynx tense. The tenser the larynx muscles, the higher the voice that emerges. So keep your larynx relaxed by avoiding stress and getting enough sleep. And don’t smoke! If you want to know how to deepen your voice, damaging your health isn’t the preferred method!

Third, talk from the back of your throat to achieve more resonance in your voice. Pay special attention to articulating your R sounds.

If you practice these techniques on how to deepen your voice regularly, they will definitely help you in achieving a lower voice as well as enhancing your self-confidence.

Speaking Voice Training – Tips From a Professional Voice Coach

deeper voiceWe all know that having a good speaking voice can help you succeed in life. A deep, resonant voice also makes people sit up and listen to you – just look at Barry White. Unfortunately, most people don’t have good voices – they have squeaky, breathy, high-pitched voices. Fortunately, there is speaking voice training available that you can do to make your voice sound crisp and powerful.

First though, you have to record yourself. This will allow you to assess it and look for areas of improvement. It will also serve to record your progress.

Then practice deep breathing from your diaphragm. Do long, controlled exhales. Being able to take longer breaths will give you more control over your voice.

Learn to speak more slowly. If you speak too quickly, this may cause your larynx to tense up, causing your voice to go higher. Talking too fast will also make it harder for people to keep up with what you are saying.

Practice speaking clearly. Having a good speaking voice is useless if people can’t make out what you’re saying. Try exaggerating your lip movements to articulate better. You can also say tongue twisters repeatedly until you master them. These are just a few of many techniques that speaking voice training would teach you.

Learn to moderate your volume and your pitch. Don’t talk too loudly or too softly, and try to pitch your voice lower. You can develop your pitch through vocal exercises such as humming.

Practicing these simple techniques will undoubtedly improve your voice if you do them regularly, but you may also want to get some kind of formal speaking voice training. Having a deeper voice is proven to earn you respect and, of course, attention from women as well.

Tension Of The Voice

deeper voiceHere is a little experiment for you to do, try humming in a very deep voice with your chin touching your chest, now raise your chin upwards as you are humming, slowly looking towards the sky. What you will notice is, as you raise your head up, the tone of your voice will get lower as the tension is released from your vocal chords.

This is illustrating how the tension of the vocal chords is the key to achieving that deep voice you have always wanted. There are multiple causes for you vocal chords becoming tense, thereby causing you to have a high pitched voice. It really doesn’t have anything to do with how big your vocal chords are. Just by raising your chin from your chest while making a sound, you have demonstrated that the only thing that matters, when trying to get a deeper voice, is the tension of the voice box.

Your vocal chords are actually very similar to a string instrument. Even the smallest chord on a string instrument can be loosened to give it a deeper sound. So therefore, you can clearly see that the best way to deepen your voice is to release some of the tension on your vocal chords by doing various exercises like humming and breathing exercises. Humming in a deep voice in different notes can help you control the deeper tones of your voice and release some tension from your vocal chords.

Some of the exercises you should be doing are mental though, they have to do with controlling your emotions to keep tension from occurring when you are in crowed places. That’s why some singers’ voices crack when they are singing in front of large crowds, it is simply the tension that is being forced upon their voices by the pressure of being in front of all of those people.
