Breathing Exercises to Strengthen and Deepen Your Voice

deeper voiceWoman love a man with a powerful and authoritative voice. It gives off an err of confidence and masculinity. If you do not have a strong voice, you may feel hopeless in trying to change it, assuming that there is really nothing you can do about it. The truth is, there are many ways one can deepen their voice effectively, and you can even wind up sounding like a completely different person. One of the ways you can strengthen your voice is to practice Diaphragmatic.

Diaphragmatic breathing is basically deep belly breathing. Since your voice is a result of air being pushed from your lungs and then contorted in your vocal box, doing breathing exercises will give you a stronger push, which will make your vocal control increase. Start by placing a hand over your belly button. Then take a long inhale as you are counting to ten, make sure you inhale for a full ten seconds. Once you have inhaled for ten seconds, then exhale for ten seconds, making sure to exhale for a full ten seconds. Keep doing this repeatedly until it completely comfortable for you to do.

Once you have gotten comfortable with this exercise, try adding a sound to the equation. Try for example an “ah” sound. Making sure to hold the sound for as long as you possibly can before stopping. Once you have gotten use to this then try bouncing your shoulders as you make the sound for as long as you can, this will make it a little bit harder. Once you have gotten use to this, then you should be able to do this on a daily basis. Try to do it as often as possible, like whenever you are alone driving in the car. Before you know it, you’ll be speaking with a stronger voice and taking less breathes between each pause.

Tension Of The Voice

deeper voiceHere is a little experiment for you to do, try humming in a very deep voice with your chin touching your chest, now raise your chin upwards as you are humming, slowly looking towards the sky. What you will notice is, as you raise your head up, the tone of your voice will get lower as the tension is released from your vocal chords.

This is illustrating how the tension of the vocal chords is the key to achieving that deep voice you have always wanted. There are multiple causes for you vocal chords becoming tense, thereby causing you to have a high pitched voice. It really doesn’t have anything to do with how big your vocal chords are. Just by raising your chin from your chest while making a sound, you have demonstrated that the only thing that matters, when trying to get a deeper voice, is the tension of the voice box.

Your vocal chords are actually very similar to a string instrument. Even the smallest chord on a string instrument can be loosened to give it a deeper sound. So therefore, you can clearly see that the best way to deepen your voice is to release some of the tension on your vocal chords by doing various exercises like humming and breathing exercises. Humming in a deep voice in different notes can help you control the deeper tones of your voice and release some tension from your vocal chords.

Some of the exercises you should be doing are mental though, they have to do with controlling your emotions to keep tension from occurring when you are in crowed places. That’s why some singers’ voices crack when they are singing in front of large crowds, it is simply the tension that is being forced upon their voices by the pressure of being in front of all of those people.

Deepening Your Voice With Persistence

deeper voiceMost men assume there is simply nothing they can do when it comes to deepening their voice.  This is just simply not true, there are plenty of ways one can go about deepening the tone of their voice, through various vocal exercises. While it won’t necessarily be easy, it is entirely possible with the right vocal training.

The fact is, our vocal chords are a muscle group and can be strengthened just like every other muscle group in our bodies. The only difference is, it will take a different kind of exercise, a more concentrated and specific exercise, in order to deepen the voice.  Most of these exercises can take months to see any results with. The reason why it can take such long periods of time for your voice to change, is because most of the exercises that will allow you to do so, are actually geared towards goals other than just making your voice deep.

Most of the vocal training exercises attempt to teach one how to control the vocal chords so they can sing better, A.K.A singing lessons. The problem is, a lot of guys could give a hoot if they can sing, they just want a deeper voice. There are other more motivational type methods that people get confused with such as hypnosis. These methods are not very successful, that is unless the person being hypnotized firmly believes that the hypnosis will work for them. It has been said “You are as you think” and that is the core issue of hypnosis, it only works on those who believe it will. It is simply a method of unleashing your own willpower in a subconscious way.

Another exercise known as elocution, attempts to teach one to speak more eloquently, so they may use their voice more effectively in venues such as job interviews.

All of these exercises really are beating around the bush when it comes to getting a deep voice, and if you are trying to get a deep voice then singing exercises would still be your best bet. However if you are trying to target a specific tone, like a having a deeper voice, then I would suggest you limit the exercises to ones that will help you with this. For example, just walk around all day humming different notes in a deep voice, over time this is a sure fire way to see results. Remember persistence is the key, when it comes to changing any part of your body, not just the voice.

How to Get a Deeper Voice in 5 Days

deeper voice

A lot of men would give anything to have a deeper voice. Deep voice is considered very manly – sexy even, especially to the girls. But the problem is that there is so little a person can do to improve his voice. One’s voice is a quality obtained at birth. And there are not so many methods developed to change a person’s voice yet.

But that doesn’t mean it is totally impossible to obtain a much deeper voice. Some people need this for varied of reasons. Some would like to improve their singing talent. Others would like to be a radio show host or maybe a podcaster. Of course, there are people who would like to make their voice deeper simply because they want to boost their confidence and personality.

Regardless of what your reason maybe, you can have a deeper voice if you just follow these tips:

1. Do some vocal exercises.

You can make your voice sound a little deeper with extra effort. Exercise speaking deeper. Practice speaking in the low pitch that you desire. Do this regularly it would soon grow on you. In time, it would become your normal speaking voice. Try it and you’ll see.

2. Talk slower.

When you talk slow, you tend to be more conscious of the words that would come out of your mouth. Also, talking slow would allow your voice to vibrate out of your ribcage and hit that perfect baritone that you always wanted. Talking slower would also make you a good speaker.

3. Undergo surgery

If you’re really resolved with deepening your voice, try to talk to a specialized doctor about some reconstructive surgery that you can undergo. Such surgeries can make your voice sound more husky and lean. The doctor would have to modify your voice box. And when it comes to money matters, it can really cost you some. This is a rather invasive procedure as far as changing the pitch of your voice is concerned. But it should be worth it because this method can provide a permanent solution to the problem.

4. Testosterone injections

Men with high pitched voices tend to have lower levels of testosterone in the body. And the simple task of balancing such hormones can do a lot. There are hormone pills that are easily available over the counter these days. But then again, injecting them directly into your bloodstream is still the better way to do it. Talk to your doctor as to how you can possibly be benefited by this procedure.

5. Try to relax

The throat muscles tend to squeak if you’re too tensed as you speak. If you have a speaking engagement and you have to talk using a deep, rich voice, it is best that you loosen up your tensed muscles, especially your tongue. Perform some mouth exercises to put you in the groove.

Having a deep voice doesn’t happen overnight. It is achieved with the right methods and the necessary practice. And once you get used to it, speaking confidently in a deep voice would come naturally to you. Then you’ll be more confident and so sure of yourself. You can even lead an entirely new career with it if you want.

Simple Vocal Exercises to Lower Your Voice

deeper voiceJust like your body, your voice also needs exercise. Of course we all spend a lot of our time talking, but this is not the same as a workout that would relax your voice and help get the most out of it. Since the cause of a high-pitched voice is tension in the muscles of the larynx, these simple exercises help you to lower your voice.

Before doing these exercises you should first do some warm up exercises to release tension in your neck, shoulders, jaw and tongue. To exercise your tongue, extend it out of your mouth as far as you can and move it in all directions. To exercise your facial muscles, make as many exaggerated funny faces as you can. To remove tension in your neck and shoulders, do neck and shoulder rolls. You can also try massaging the base of your tongue, which is located behind your chin bone, with your thumbs.

Once you’ve done these warm-ups, you can try these vocal exercises. Vocalize an ‘aah’ sound going higher and deeper, and lower your voice gradually. Hum holding a particular pitch for ten seconds at least. Yawn several times to open up the back of your throat. Flap your lips while making a ‘brr’ sound, going up and down your vocal range. Make some noises while jumping up and down or shaking your body.

For best results, do these exercises on a regular basis to release tension. A good speaking voice is one of the keys to success in life and vocal workouts will not only help you lower your voice but also increase its range and power.
